Get Creative with Rootle’s Read-a-roo

Exciting news for Rootle fans and coloring enthusiasts everywhere: In celebration of National Coloring Book Day on August 2, we’re releasing a few pages from Rootle’s upcoming Read-a-roo coloring book! Print out the pages and unleash the colors of the rainbow with Rootle’s lovable kangaroo as she explores her favorite things, including space, science, reading and more.

There’s More to Coloring Than You Think

Coloring is not just fun—it helps children develop important skills. When kids use pencils, crayons, chalk or paintbrushes, they improve their fine motor skills, which are important for tasks like writing.

Art also helps kids with their thinking and learning skills. They learn about patterns, cause and effect, and critical thinking as they plan and create their artwork. Art can even teach math concepts like size, shape, counting and understanding comparisons.

When children talk about their art and how they made it, they also improve their language skills. Adults can help by listening and asking open-ended questions.

Art is not only about learning. It can also help kids relax and handle their emotions better. Giving them the chance to be creative is important for their health and well-being. Parents and caregivers can support their children’s growth by encouraging them to express themselves through art and other creative activities.
