How Climate Change Helps the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Threaten Trees, and How to Fight It

You hear a lot about climate change when talking about the North Carolina coast, including how sea level rise is leading to flooding and erosion and how warmer oceans are creating stronger hurricanes. But much farther inland, in Stokes County, the warming climate is helping a tiny insect lay waste to a giant tree that is key to much of North Carolina’s mountain habitat.
