Marriages, Murder and Royalty on PBS

From L-R: Alphy Kottaram played by Rishi Nair in Grantchester, Louisa Binder playing Constance March as she pushes along a little boy and a little girl and Lesley Manville as Susan Ryeland in Magpie Murders.

Hopefully, you’re caught up on season 2 of Hotel Portofino in which marriages crumbled, business ventures went sour, and a heartbreaking loss left us all stunned. But want not, the drama continues as season 3 premieres July 28th. Taking place two years after the season 2 finale, Bella is basking in the joy of her budding romance with the charming architect, Marco. Things are looking up as she prepares to welcome her father and sister. However—without giving too much away—an unexpected arrival brings a looming divorce, and everyone is trying to avoid a fascist leader (Danioni).

If you’ve been keeping up with Grantchester on Sunday nights, season 9 will be coming to its finale on August 4th. Of course, if you’re like me, you might have already binged watched the whole thing with Passport. I’m happy to report that the ending has me excited for season 10

Based on a best-selling novel, Magpie Murders blends a classic whodunit with modern intrigue. Editor Susan Ryeland stumbles upon a hidden puzzle within the manuscript of her latest crime novel. As she delves deeper into the mystery, the lines between fiction and reality blur, leading her on a thrilling investigation.
