New Seasons of PBS Dramas

Spring is all about new beginnings and fresh starts, and it’s the perfect time of year for new seasons of your favorite shows on PBS.
Set in a new decade, season 14 of Call the Midwife continues to tackle social issues in post-war Poplar, while the Nonnatus sisters take care of their community. The 1970s bring new obstacles and miracles to midwifery: elevators, a gas explosion, a strike and iron lungs.
Wolf Hall returns, following Thomas Cromwell's final years as he grapples with the difficult choice between doing what is right and survival under King Henry VIII. Picking up where the first season ended—with Anne Boleyn's execution—the series explores the cruel regime of Henry VIII and the fates of everyone involved.
For more historical fiction, Marie Antoinette returns, navigating the dramatic twists of royalty. As modern rule creates more enemies for Marie and Louis XVI, France's protests spiral, leading to a grief and depression that will affect Marie Antoinette’s standing.
New challenges are also faced in the newest season of Funny Woman. While Sophie Straw’s newfound stardom is at an all-time high, she also works through family secrets, flopping shows and the divorce that looms over her relationship. But she’s got a great group of friends and her own confidence to help her embrace some of these challenges.
